Welcome to our blog! We are looking forward to showing you what we do at Ongarue School. This is our first class blog. We had a school blog when we went to Rarotonga, you can find it
here. This blog is going to be a snapshot of what we learn and do.
Today was our first day back to school and we interviewed each other about what we know about Waitangi Day.

Hi Ongarue School
ReplyDeleteWhat was the most interesting piece of information you found out about Waitangi Day?
Mrs Couper
Hi Mrs Couper and Kaitieke school. We have created another blog post describing the week we spent learning about the Treaty of Waitangi. We would love you to go have a look!
DeleteUpdate: Some of us think there are lots more interesting pieces of information that we neglected to say in our Treaty of Waitangi post - such as how Hone Heke was the first Maori chief to sign the Treaty. He was the guy that is well know for cutting down the flagpole - twice!

ReplyDeleteHow exciting that you are creating a blog, I really like your blog wall paper and can one of you show me sometime how to insert a picture.
And I am going to follow with interest your study on The Treaty of Waitangi. There is so much we really think we know but really don't know at all about the treaty. And really all New Zealanders have a responsibility to understand the treaty. American all understand their Constitution and Bill of Rights, why do we understand so little about our founding document??
I am glad we have started a blog, i really am, and hopefully we are able to gain 'popularity' with it

Well done Ongarue seniors for getting your year off to a great start and learning all about The Treaty of Waitangi, looking forward to reading about what else you are learning too.
