On Friday the 1st of April the Ongarue Senior Soccer team battled off against St Pat’s for 5th and 6th at Cherry Grove.
The game started off with a hiss and a roar with Martin scoring the first FANTASTIC goal in the first 30 seconds!
The second goal wasn't far behind with Herewini booting the ball straight past the goalie.
By the second half we were leading 3-0. St Pat’s coach was giving the team a good rev up. We could see this half was going to be different.
St Pat’s were presenting some pretty good defence. They came roaring up the field to our half and had a good shot at goal but Kahu was just too good and hit the ball with his hands sending the ball straight over the top of the net. After the day had been saved I could see Kahu’s hands were going to be sore tomorrow.
By the time the final whistle blew we had won 5-0. What a terrific way to finish the season. Maybe, Next year we could be playing off for 1st and 2nd
