Soccer finals
On Friday the 1st of April it was the soccer finals at Cherry Grove in Taumarunui. We, the Ongarue seniors, clashed with St Pats in battle for 5th and 6th place.
The game kicked off with a fantastic goal being scored by Martin in the first 30 seconds.
It wasn't long after, that we struck again with Herewini scoring from outside the goalies box.
At half time we were leading 3-0.
The 2nd half started and we were close to scoring another goal.
Then a while after just before the hooter went, we were up by another goal being scored by a St Pats player.
Herewini one of our star players quoted, "It was one of his best goals in his life".
At the end of the game we scored 5 to nil. Everyone in the team enjoyed the last game that we would play this year. Next year the team will have to train a whole lot harder with two of their players leaving to high school.
